Welcome to the PAC Financial Blog: Plain English Money Answers from Harrisburg

Try researching a retirement question online sometime. You get jargon, cookie-cutter rules of thumb, and twelve articles that contradict each other before you find one written by an actual person. If that experience sounds familiar, you already understand why this blog exists.

We are PAC Financial, a third-generation family firm in Harrisburg. For over three decades our team has sat across the desk from retirees living on what they saved, educators and Commonwealth employees planning their next chapters, and business owners building something from the ground up. Steve Marrazzo got his start working with Pennsylvania educators and their PSERS benefits, and nearly four decades later, public employees remain at the center of what we do, because more than 30 years of those conversations taught us one thing worth repeating: no two financial lives are the same. The plan that fits a 35-year-old investing for growth would be wrong for someone who retired last month and needs steady income, because the job of the money is completely different.

That is why generic financial content quietly costs people real dollars. A rule of thumb that ignores your pension, your tax bracket, or your family does not just miss the mark. It points you somewhere you should not go.

What the PAC Financial blog covers

This space is our answer to that problem. Bite-sized, plain English posts you can read with your morning coffee, on the subjects our clients actually ask about:

  • Retirement readiness. Income planning, Roth conversions, and making savings last, explained the way we would explain them at a kitchen table.
  • Smart tax planning. The tax laws keep changing. We track what changed and what it means for keeping more of what you earn.
  • Market and investment clarity. When the headlines get loud, we break down what happened and what it means, without the Wall Street spin.
  • Generational wealth and estate planning. Practical steps to protect what you have built and pass it on the way you intend.

You will also see us cover things specific to our corner of Pennsylvania that national sites skip entirely, because a Harrisburg family's questions about PSERS and SERS pensions, PA taxes, or Trump Accounts deserve Harrisburg answers.

One promise as you read: when a topic is something you can handle perfectly well on your own, we will say so. Straightforward education makes everyone's life better, whether you manage your own investments or would rather hand off the day-to-day and get on with living. Either way, you are the reader we write for.
